Rubber futures prices have increased 21% this year

According to the “Press Evening News” report, Tokyo Industrial Exchange (TOCOM) rubber futures closed at record highs on the 4th, breaking above 500 yen per kilogram. Industry sources pointed out that due to the signs of improvement in the global economy and the limited supply of rubber, but also because Chinese buyers expect sales of automobiles and tires to increase, they may end expectations of accelerating procurement during the Spring Festival holiday.
Rubber futures have grown by 21% in 2011 and continue to expand 50% growth in 2010. The supply of Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia was limited due to rainfall, while the strong demand for rubber in China and India increased the demand for rubber.
The Shanghai market will be closed for the Spring Festival holiday until February 8. At present, the Shanghai Futures Exchange's rubber futures contract for May delivery increased to a record high of 41,480 yuan per ton on January 31st.
